Rosehips grow on any sort of rose shrub

Rosehips

Rosehips grow on any sort of rose shrub. The best time to gather them is in fall after the first frost. Snap off the tails as you pick them then spread them out to partially dry. When the skin begins to feel dry and shriveled, split the hips and remove all the seeds. Dry the rosehips completely. If kept cool they will last a long time. They are a great snack any time you need a little extra energy. They are packed with vitamin C, B, E beta carotene, and riboflavin.
